We invited the whole family to stay with us for Hanukkah and I really wanted to create a festive ambiance . This year the retail giants really upped their game on the Hanukkah decor both in-store and online. Usually, you’d consider yourself lucky if you found some dreidels & Hanukkah wrapping paper hidden somewhere in the back of the store.
Check out some of the awesome finds I came across at Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Macy’s, Williams Sonoma & Bloomingdales.
We’ll start with my favorite place for Hanukkah Decorations which is Bed Bath & Beyond. Although they only carry a small subset of their items in-store, their online presence is a gold mine for quality Hanukkah indoor/outdoor decor. Since we have a house full of kids, I opted for their (pun)ny non-breakable melamine plates which are also dishwasher safe. YessssAnother fun addition this year was their wooden block Hanukkah count-down calendar
For the presents table, I grabbed two of their indoor/outdoor light up present sets which come in groups of 3.
I also grabbed the large and mini Hanukkah water globes along with their festive runner for the table centerpiece. This is some serious Hanukkah decor overload but the kids went gaga over it.
If you’re shopping online for next year, I have three recommendations:
- Check out their online clearance the day after Hanukkah 2017 is over
- In 2018, start a month early. This is usually when their holiday inventory first shows up online and is available for first dibs.
- Go in-store. Some locations carry Hanukkah items that are actually not available online. A great example is the melamine Hanukkah plates above.
Targé (aka Target) really represented the tribe this year. They had a dedicated Hanukkah discount section in the store entry seasonal display. This was in addition to the Hanukkah gear usually found next to the home furnishings.
I grabbed a handful of the Hanukkah felt garlands which I hung all over the house. I also found some fun wooden menorah & dreidel decor which I used as center pieces on our coffee table. But … the real winner was this fabulous velvet Hanukkah overall (brought to you straight out of the 90s). Yes. I got myself a pair. You rock Target!
I’m a huge Michael Aram fan and I like to display the more intricate menorahs on the mantle. You can find these 3 at Bloomingdales. For those wondering, I got the beaded menorah mantle scarf at Pier 1 last year.
But check out the magic when the lights turn on 🙂
I thought it would be fun to have the whole family unwrap presents while wearing matching pjs. I found some snazzy ones at Macy’s because “this is how we roll!”
I placed the pjs on the beds with a holiday card for the adults and a dreidel game set from Target for the kids.
I also couldn’t skip out on this sparkly Macy’s dreidel purse which I got for all the ladies in the familia.
Did you get all Hanukkah’ed out yet? Oh good. One purchase I didn’t display this year (because the kids are too small) is the plateware and glassware I got from Williams Sonoma. I thought their Hanukkah collection was quite beautiful. Here is a picture I took of their store display.
